Sealants

The majority of juvenile tooth decay occurs on the biting surfaces of the posterior (back) teeth. Sealants are bonded mainly to the biting surfaces of the posterior teeth covering open pits and fissures preventing tooth decay. The sealant materials mainly in use today are comprised of a tooth or white colored resin.
